The INCCS Beginner Chinese Language Learning Course™ is designed for anyone who wishes to understand and speak conversational Chinese language in day-to-day life situations. Besides learning to speak and understand Chinese, the beginner course will also equip you with basic reading and writing capabilities as the course also includes learning to read and write Chinese language characters & simple sentences.
Course Objectives
The objectives of the beginner course are as under:
- Master the Chinese phonetic system (pinyin and tones) with satisfactory pronunciation.
- Understand the construction of commonly used Chinese Characters and learn to write them correctly.
- Understand and use correctly basic Chinese grammar and sentence structures.
- Build up essential vocabulary ( 1000-1500).
- Listen, speak, read and write level appropriate short passages
After undergoing the course, the participants will be able to:
- Understand the alphabet (pinyin) system and syllabic structure of Chinese characters.
- Understand the Chinese radicals and rules of stroke orders for writing Chinese characters.
- Appreciate uniqueness of Chinese grammar (word order, measure words and etc.)
- Exchange greetings with each other and make self-introduction.
- Discuss family members and describe others in more detailed ways (physical appearance, age, nationality hobbies and etc.)
- Counting in Chinese from 1-100 or more.
- Read a calendar and tell time and days of week.
- Describe hobbies, interests, and habits.
- Shopping for clothes, food and etc.
- Ask and describe someone’s favor and taste.
- Order food in restaurant.
- Talk about money, price and simple bargaining.
- Ask for and give direction.
- Talk about different means of transportation.
- Read & write about 500-800 simplified Chinese characters.
